personal chef & culinary coach jennifer simpson
My culinary journey started when I was 11. My mother and I were living with my grandparents. My grandfather had a beautiful garden. Every Wednesday we would read the San Francisco Chronicle food section. We would choose recipes we were going to try for the week while utilizing the bounty of the garden. Summer was always my favorite season because it meant beefsteak heirloom tomatoes and strawberries. We always had too much zucchini. After surviving the dot com bust, I finally had some time and money to pursue my true passion in the culinary arts. I was off to California Culinary Academy le Cordon Bleu San Francisco. I was thrilled to do my internship at the San Francisco Chronicle's food and wine section. I met so many talented writers, chefs and winemakers. I decided to pursue a career in the wine industry. I started working in a small retail wine and spirits shop then moved on to Whole Foods. I started as an assistant wine buyer and was quickly promoted to wine buyer at the south of market Whole Foods Market in San Francisco and moved on to wine sales. I went back to work in technology, then left to be a GM for a chocolate and wine shop then co-founded a small production chocolate company. I have also worked with many local catering companies. i really found my true passion working as a personal chef. I love creating seasonal meals that nourish the soul and bring family and friends together.
"I am a personal chef that answers your, "What's for dinner?"question".
