The daughter of a restaurant owner and granddaughter of hotel and restaurant owners, Chef Rose Johnson’s introduction to the hospitality industry came at an early age. As a child, her immersion was complete as she made homemade donuts and set out continental breakfast for hotel guests, baked pies and made appetizers.
From Head Pastry Chef at renowned Philadelphia restaurants White Dog Cafe and The Striped Bass, to working with the James Beard award-winning chef George Perrier at Le Bec Fin (the only Philadelphia restaurant to receive five-stars in the Mobil Travel Guide for 23 years standing), chef and teaching positions at New England boarding schools, health care food service, Rose has worked in all aspects of food service. She owned and operated an evening dessert cafe and her cooking segments have been featured on Canadian TV. Since opening Rose Johnson Catering & Cooking Classes, she has cooked for the US and Canadian Ambassadors to Denmark, ladies nights-out, non-profit fundraising events, a Danish wedding, and other gatherings up to 50 people.

"Rose was amazing! She promptly responded to all my emails and communicated flawlessly. She provided all the staff needed for our wedding and customized our menu for our dietary restrictions. We met with many caterers and she was the best value and most friendly. All of the staff working with her were very friendly and professional. The food was amazing. "Rose Johnson & her entire crew were fantastic! We hired her for a 50th wedding anniversary party that we were hosting in our backyard for about 50x guests. She's great with communication - she was quick to get us a quote, a sample menu, and walk us through what she would need/suggest for the day of the event. She was very flexible, and easily accommodated my mother-in-law's low sodium diet requirement. Most importantly though, her food was wonderful! Her appetizers were plentiful, and the main course & sides were delicious. I was worried about having dried out food (as we were doing a buffet), but the food was cooked perfectly. She kept me on budget, and really, she went above & beyond what I expected from a caterer! Her staff were friendly with the guests, they helped pour drinks, set up chairs, and left my kitchen clean at the end of the night!! I would recommend her to others in a heartbeat!" Anh C.
