My mother! I loved working with her in the kitchen when I was little and as I grew, so did my passion for cooking. What's funny is her weakness is my strength: my mom is a savory chef and really doesn't like to bake, while I love baking and creating amazing desserts. Of course, being my mother's daughter, I have also been influenced by Mexico and the dessert recipes (along with the culinary history behind them), in my mother's cookbook, Celebraciones Mexicanas: History, Traditions and Recipes , co-written with Adriana Lahl.
Chef Cienna started working side-by-side with Chef Andrea Gray when she was 12 and by the time she was 17, was proficient in plating/presentation, table service, kitchen prep, making tortillas by hand– and had developed a passion for desserts. Since then, Cienna has been responsible for all the creations on the Una Señorita Gourmet Dessert Menu,and continues to experiment with and develop new menu items.
